The Delta Schoolcraft Intermediate School District, in the south central region of Michigan’s Upper  Peninsula, has a long term project to highlight the history of Michigan in the larger context of U.S. history.  Through a coordinated program of workshops, colloquia, conferences, and curriculum institutes, a group of fifty five teacher leaders are building their history content knowledge and learning, applying, and building on best practice history pedagogy skills.  We are funded through a Teaching American History grant from the U.S. Department of Education and local LEA’s.
